The Danner Ridge is the latest step in the brand's tradition of innovating lighter hiking boots. This time they've applied the same standards and methods they use in building trail-conquering hikers to a boot that adapts for city life. Built in the Portland factory, Danner Ridge utilizes new construction techniques and materials to integrate the shank, midsole, and lasting board into a single piece and saving precious ounces in the process. Combined with a low-profile Vibram sole it has out-of-the-box comfort unheard of in a classic hiker so you’re ready to hit the trail or pound the pavement the first time you lace them up.

A high quality product is only as good as the pieces you start with. That’s why for the Ridge boot Danner used premium full-grain leather that undergoes six separate quality tests to test for strength, flexibility and durability before they even consider using it. The leather hides that make the grade are still cut by hand in the Portland factory for each and every boot to ensure the very best pieces are used. The leather is combined with a waxed canvas from Cordura, the experts in abrasion resistant fabrics, that helps cut down on weight without sacrificing durability or comfort. Danner Ridge is a premium boot from inside out.

FROM STEP ONE

With this boot, Danner didn’t just want to make it lighter, but they wanted to minimize the break in period too. The new Bi-Fit construction allowed to combine what used to be three separate pieces into one and by pairing it with a low profile Vibram sole, the Danner Ridge is nearly 20% lighter than some of its predecessors. Inside uses a plush removable footbed and a buttery, soft leather on the boot collar for out-of-the-box comfort that invites you to wear them as long as your legs will carry you from day one.

For decades, they’ve worked with GORE-TEX® for their excellent waterproof liners and with Vibram for their legendary outsole technologies. Building off their expertise, the Danner Ridge features GORE-TEX®’s 100% waterproof breathable membrane and the lightweight, everyday capable Kletterlift thin outsole from Vibram. Working with industry leading partners gives you a better boot to conquer trails paved, packed or broken.
